The Regional University Study Hubs across South Australia have partnered with the Local Government Finance Authority to launch the Finance Cadetship Initiative, offering regional university students a supported pathway into local government careers.
Open to students in their third or fourth year of Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related degrees, the initiative enables participants to earn while they learn, with paid employment in their local council, up to five hours of paid study leave each week, and ongoing support through the Study Hubs.
This opportunity allows students to begin their careers while still studying, stay connected to their home communities, and build a long-term, secure future in one of the nation’s largest workforce sectors.
Eligibility
– Students currently enrolled in a Finance-related university course (Commerce, Accounting, Finance)
– Have a GPA of 4.5+
– An Australian Citizen or permanent resident
– Reside in a listed regional SA location:
